Smokeless Fire Pits - Breeo

Image
I've had many fire pits over the years.  From an old truck wheel, a section of 55 gallon drum, and a nice looking bowl style firepit to a homemade smokeless firepit, I have tried them all.   Most had one thing in common: They smoked no matter how good of a fire I made.     I had seen adds.. LOTS of adds for Solo Stove firepits, so I decided to check them out in person at one of the local hardware stores.  They looked nice, but I could not get past the fact that they seemed kind of delicate.  The thin metal seemed like it would be easy to dent.  I still wasn't sold on the "smokeless" feature either.  The science seemed sound but like all things I preferred to experience it for myself.   So.. not wanting to spend hundreds for a Solo Stove, I sourced a couple stainless pots from Walmart and fabricated my own mini Solo Stove style firepit.  It was a success.  It was true that once the fire is burning hot it becomes smokeless.  My little DIY firepit even gave of those sw

I Rented a Tesla... And it was Awesome!

My car was due for major service.  My mechanic estimated it would take a day or two to complete.  Oh no... No car for a couple of days!... What would I do?  Perfect excuse to splurge and rent a Tesla, that's what! But wait... Who rents out Teslas? It's not like I can run down to Avis or Budget and say "Hey I want a Tesla!".  Nope.  There is a better answer. Turo !  I had previously rented a Mini Cooper from Turo and it was a great experience.  I logged on via the app on my phone and started my search for Teslas for rent near me. I found a local Tesla, a Model E, and reserved it.  A short time later the (former) owner replied and said he had sold the car! Argh!  I cancelled the reservation and contacted Turo customer support. They waived the cancellation fee and gave me $20 credit for my trouble. Sweet! I searched again and found a Model 3.  I kinda had my heart set on renting a Model E but I could not find any within a reasonable distance.  So, Mo

Turo - Air BnB for Cars!

Last year I had to make an emergency trip across the country to Boston.  I needed to rent a car and found that last minute rentals can be very expensive, especially from a major airport like Boston's Logan.  I was about to rent when the travel site I used suggested Turo as low cost alternative.  Turo?  What's that?  I'd never heard of it.  I checked it out and it liked what I saw.  I ended up renting a very nice Mini Cooper for about one half the cost of a car from a traditional rental agency.  All of the arrangements were made online through the Turo app , including communications with the car owner.  The owner picked me up at the door just outside of baggage claim and was very prompt and courteous.  His car was super clean and it was a treat to drive too. I drove the car for about a week before meeting the owner at the airport to return the car.  It was such a nice experience to not have to deal with a rental pick and return, lines and shuttle bus rides. There has never been a better time to sign up for or transfer to Google Fi.  Currently, you can save up to $500 on select devices or get $100 in Fi bill credit when you join Fi or add a line. Recently, Google Fi has lowered the cost of their unlimited data plans.  Personally, I believe the Simply Unlimited plan is among the best out there for families and groups of 4 or more.  $20/line plus taxes per month gets each line unlimited talk and texts, 35gb of data, and 5gb of tethered data.  You can travel to Canada and Mexico and use your phone without incurring additional fees. Like what you have read?  Use this link and it will score you an extra $20 off your first bill and you will be helping out a fellow Google Fi member.  Enjoy!
